I'm sad to say that my best little friend, Beeper, died last night. I bought her in 1993. I would bring her to nursing homes and libraries for kids and parents. Anyone who knew me because of my sign business was familiar with Beeper. They would see her in action, what a gift she was, and my heart breaks. Another voice in the house kept me feeling safe many times. Funny how our pets end up being like family.

The Amazing Beeper!

This meeting took place in 2010. The stranger I was meant to meet. Making a difference by reaching out to others across the globe to answer their prayers. Prayers can make a real difference in others’ lives. Access to clean water is something most of us take for granted. Recently, Kathleen Zeitler of Green Bay, Wisconsin, had the opportunity to make a difference by purchasing a well Pump for a disadvantaged community in Cameroon. Knowing that you have forever improved the lives of a community is a fantastic experience. The Nkamb-Cameroon space well is a powerful reminder that we can all make a difference by sharing our time, talents, and resources. Change can truly begin with a single person, reaching out to those in need. As a mother and now a grandmother, my heart was crushed upon learning about this community and the hardships its people faced in accessing water. Can you imagine walking miles and then having to carry the water back for a family? Many families drink the water from the stream, which they also use for washing clothes and bathing. Hearing stories of the adults and children who have become sick, and in some cases have died. Being a mother, I cannot even think of how painful it would be to hold someone in your arms who is sick because of not having the tools to have clean water. I am not a woman of much wealth, but I do believe if I can help other people than myself, I have to do it. When I’m lying in bed at night, I think of what time it is in Africa and who may be at the well. I couldn’t help but have a wide smile across my face as I thought about the families that won’t suffer.
